Catherine Seghers’ education started with
a licence in musicology from U.L.B. At the same
time she attended classes in singing and declamation
at the Brussels Royal Conservatoire.
Once her children had grown up she followed
a six-year training at the “Workshop of
the Grange des Champs” in Braine-l’Alleud
where she applied herself especially to charcoal,
pastel drawing and oil painting. Her first exhibition
was at the Boondael Chapel in December 2006.
As she feels attracted to the texts of the
Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, for this exhibition
Catherine Seghers proposes a number of works
where poetry and painting do meet. She would
like to make her work evolve towards a search
for association between literature, music, painting
and calligraphy.
