Can I choose the level of the course?

No, you can’t, and this is to your own advantage. At enrolment you take a placement test on the basis of which your level is determined. In this way, you are automatically at the level that corresponds to your present level of competence.

Top

When can I take the placement test?

At the moment of enrolment.

Top

Can I choose when I wish to attend the course?

Yes, you can. From the moment we know your level we can see which places are still available. If the course is programmed several times a week you can choose from the available possibilities.

Top

Can I enrol electronically (via the web or via e-mail)?

No, you can’t. The department of Education still requires a handwritten and signed enrolment form with a photocopy of your identity card. Moreover, the enrolment needs to be paid for immediately, and you probably also need to take a placement test to determine your level, or to see if you have the required foreknowledge etc… For these reasons you will need to come to the school secretariat personally.

Top

Can I make a reservation for a course?

No, you can’t. First come, first served.

Top

Can I pay with a payment order or with a credit card?

No, you can’t. A payment order is not a means of payment. You can pay cash, with a cheque or with Bancontact/MisterCash, not with a credit card.

Top

Can I enrol first and pay afterwards?

No, you can’t. As long as you haven’t paid you are not enrolled.

Top

Can I enrol for a course in Rode at campus Halle (and vice versa)?

Yes, you can.

Top

Can I enrol for somebody else

Yes, you can, if there is no need for a placement test (since, obviously, you can’t take that yourself). In this case, take the person’s ID-card with you.

If not, they can hand in the required certificates until 15 days at the latest after the beginning of the course. Depending on the case, the difference with the already collected enrolment fee will be refunded.

REMARK REFUND :

As the amount must be adapted on the student’s certificate of enrolment, the student can only be refunded if, in addition to the required certificate, he also brings the original certificate of enrolment.

Can I cancel my enrolment and do I still get my money back?

The enrolment fee of each module can be reclaimed until 8 days before the start of the first class day. Any reimbursement can only be requested by registered letter addressed to the director of the GLLT-campus Rode. This letter will always include the original enroment certificate. In case of a valid cancellation a cancellation cost of 5 € per module will be deducted.

Top

How can I cancel?

By taking your original proof of payment to the secretariat during opening hours. But from the moment the school year has started (1 September) cancellations are no longer possible.

Top

If I cancel, can somebody else take my place?

No, they can’t. Each enrolment is nominal. So you can’t give up your place in a course or your enrolment to someone else (not even occasionally).

Top

Yes, you can, provided there is still a place available. The enrolments can also be stopped early.

Top

Can I still change classes after enrolment?

Mind: after 15 October such changes are no longer possible.

To change classes, please take your original proof of payment to the Schooloffice during opening hours.

Top

No, you can’t. The department of Education does not allow this. Moreover, you are only ensured for your presence at GLTT at the times for which you have enrolled.

Top

How big are the groups in the courses?

That depends on the size of the classrooms and can vary from ten to thirty. At higher levels the groups are mostly smaller.

Top

Which course books do I need?

You will receive a booklist at your enrolment.

Top

What should I do to receive a student’s card?

You hand in the copy of your enrolment form together with a passport photo at the secretariat. Your student’s card will be ready by your following class.

So students attending classes exclusively at the GLTT must follow at least 18 hours per week

GLTT-procedure in case of absences of Child benefit (CB) students

To avoid the reclamation of previously granted allowances, we draw your attention to the following commitments :

* Absence of one course day : the GLTT school office must be informed of this one-day absence by telephone on the same day.
* CB students under 18, in case of a one-day absence, must hand in at the GLTT school office within 7 days following the absence : either a certificate from the responsible parent stating the reason for the absence or another official certificate.
* CB students over 18, in case of a one-day absence, hand in at the GLTT school office within 7 days following the absence a declaration stating the reason for the absence or an official certificate.
* For absences of 2 or more course days each CB student should provide a medical or other official certificate.

This certificate clearly mentions the CB student’s name and first name as well as the exact absence period. This certificate must be provided at the GLTT school office within 7 days following the absence.
